Follow the red line on the map
A40, take the exit "Essen-Zentrum/Ost", turn left towards "Essen-Zentrum", going straight into the right-hand lane
Turn right into "Friedrichstraße"
At the next major junction, go straight ahead
Just in front of the Evonik building, turn sharp right into "Rüttenscheider Straße" and then turn left, across the road, into the visitors' car park

Coming via A40 from Dortmund/Bochum

Follow the red line on the map
A40, take the exit "Essen-Zentrum", going straight into the left-hand lane
Continue straight on until the next junction
Turn left into "Bismarckstraße", follow the signs for "Essen-Rüttenscheid"
At the next major junction, turn left into "Friedrichstraße"
Just in front of the Evonik building, turn sharp right into "Rüttenscheider Straße" and then turn left, across the road, into the visitors' car park

Coming via A52 from Düsseldorf

Follow the red line on the map
A52, take the exit "Essen-Rüttenscheid", turn left
Follow the signs for "Essen-Zentrum" (exhibition grounds, Gruga hall on the left)
Continue straight on until you reach a T-junction, turn left into "Alfredstraße"
Stay on that road until you reach the junction "Bismarckstraße / Friedrichstraße", turn right into "Friedrichstraße" before the traffic lights
Just in front of the Evonik building, turn sharp right into "Rüttenscheider Straße" and then turn left, across the road, into the visitors' car park

Coming via A42 from Dortmund/Herne

Follow the red line on the map
A42, take the exit "Essen-Nord" at the motorway intersection
B224 towards Essen ("Gladbecker Straße")
Stay on the B224, which turns off to the right after approx. 4 km ("Grillostraße") and then becomes "Hans-Böckler-Straße"
Continue along "Friedrichstraße"
Continue straight until you see the Evonik building
Just in front of the Evonik building, turn sharp right into "Rüttenscheider Straße" and then turn left, across the road, into the visitors' car park
